We were there all weekend but only made it for the Jimmy Bowskill show on Sunday for family day... and he is amzaing! I know he's going to be big. Wish we could have seen all the other bands on Sunday but our little one wasn't too into the Blues. The rest of the weekend rocked... and we loved Edgar Winter, Alto Reed's Band, Mark Farner, and Bobby Rush.. man could that guy move and jump for being 79 years old!!!

It's a shame that the reality doesn't match your headline. The act in no way threatens Canadian sovereignty. The act as passed is limited to maritime operations only and involves the RCMP and the United States Coast Guard, no other agencies. Coast Guard vessels designated as Ghostrider ships will carry USCG members and one RCMP officer. If the vessel is required to enter Canadian waters, the operations then fall under the control of the RCMP officer on board. All arrests are affected under the RCMP's authority, with the assistance of the USCG members. RCMP vessels are crewed by RCMP pers and one Coast Guard member. Similarly, if they cross into the US, they then fall under the direction and control of the US Coast Guard. All officers involved in the program undergo joint training in Canadian and U.S. law, including criminal code, privacy laws and sovereignty and cultural issues.
The act contains absolutely NO provisions for land based joint operations. The FBI, Homeland Security, State Police, Detroit Police, the CIA, CSIS, the OPP and the Windsor Police have nothing to do with this, unless they are called in to assist on their respective sides of the border.

This program is a very effective use of limited resources across a vast amount of shared water borders. Instead of having to station vessels from both countries in each sector, the shared model allows us to use the same resources and cover a greater amount of territory. This is a highly successful pilot project initiated by the Liberal Government of Jean Chretien in 2005 and tested until 2010. Yes there is a possibility of future cooperation, but that is still many years away. The "next iteration" commits each country to further negotiation, nothing more. At this point in time, it's not even close. Just over a year ago Canada and the US wrapped up negotiations on potential reverse Customs pilot programs without being able to come to any agreement due to the national implications on both sides of the border.

If he really wanted to safeguard the people of Windsor and especially the county, he should consider for Windsor Essex what Monroe Michigan is doing for its residents. That is to offer iodine pills to families with children to protect their little darlings' thyroids in case of equipment malfunction at the antique Monroe nuclear plant.The prevailing wind is our enemy.

Heiman, the architect of the Windsor response to the previous flu panic that saw Windsor people standing in the rain for hours is also known for shutting down the egg salad sandwich operation run by the Ladies of the Willistead at an art in the park several years ago.he has scored another publicity coup at the expense of the Windsor restaurant sector I am temted to go and once again enjoy the delicacies that i enjoyed so much when i fell in with the Middle easterners at the U 40 years ago. Anyone for Kibbeecruising?.

Love this! As the Pay it Forward Day Founder/Coordinator for Canada I am so happy to see events like this taking place. This year we were successful in getting B.C. to proclaim Pay It Forward Day (PIFD), as did several cities across Canada. This year we are hoping to increase that number. Three years ago when I started with PIFD, we had 32 countries involved. This year.....116!

As long as some people continue to view the the abusive treatment of animals as entertaining there will be others who will protest this immoral activity. The Shriners, of all organizations, should realize this. There is no justification in raising funds for charitable purposes when in the proccess you condone and actually benefit from the enslavement of innocent sentient beings. This is the paradigm of blood money.

Clarification:

The College
of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) regulates the practice of veterinary medicine
by licensing qualified veterinarians and accrediting veterinary facilities
where they work, to protect the public interest. Vaccinations are an
important part of animal care.

The provincial government requires dog and
cat owners to immunize their animals against rabies for the protection of human
health, and these vaccines may be obtained at accredited facilities or at
specially advertised public clinics. Other vaccinations can be selected
by a pet owner in consultation with a veterinarian.

The CVO has no
restrictions on accredited veterinary facilities hosting special days or
“clinics” on site to promote vaccinations, including parvo vaccinations, to
their clients, providing the dogs also receive physical examinations as part of
the pre-vaccination assessment.

I called three times.. once in mid-morning and twice after lunch. I don't really think that is an excuse. Any time you call the Coffee Exchange, which is an extremely busy cafe, a staff member is able to answer the phone.

Any restaurant would be hard-pressed to answer the phone during lunch hour. I'd suggest calling outside of meal times; best result for speaking to anyone at a restaurant. Or try calling back after a few minutes.

Just had to try this after reading the story. Lunch was delicious, well-priced, and two of us had sandwiches, salad, cookie & drink for under $20. Atmosphere, staff and decor are amazing!

This photo is at the Pelee Island Wine Pavilion. I am a tour operator on Pelee Island offering The Pelee Island Tour and a member of TWEPI. I would like to know why I was excluded form an opertunity to meet with the CEO of TWEPI. Clearly others were not and are they all members of TWEPI?

Yes, as a follow up to the investigation the OPP reported "The Essex County OPP Crime Unit has determined that no foul play is suspected in relation to the injuries sustained by a 46 year old Leamington woman."
